It’s been a great summer so far. Yes, even with it being so HOT! Trina continues to get better and so we are able to do more with her. We took her to Mt Lassen recently and actually got her out of the wheelchair and Steve held her hand and walked her along the flat hiking trail near Lake Manzanita. We haven’t been able to do this for a couple years due her injuries from a car accident in 2016. So, we are ecstatic. Makes us want to get out and do more and more.
I just love this picture of her with “Staddio,” who adopted her in 2016. Her biological daddy passed away 16 years ago and Steve as her step-dad fell in love with her. He came to see her as his “purpose” to be her dad on earth to help her. Ironically, she has become a huge blessing to him. The irony is in the fact that it is hard work, 24-7, as caregivers and God gave him a strong enough love to endure all of that and consider her a blessing in his life.
Steve has 2 older daughters and a total of 5 grandchildren from them. Then, I have 3 other daughters (Trina’s 3 older sisters) and 2 grandchildren. So, together we have a lot of purpose! And a whole lot of blessings surrounding all of them!
A big test will come next week from 7/22 – 7/27 as we have to travel to Sacramento with Trina and stay in a hotel for 5 days (bringing a van full of medical supplies, special bed, etc). She really needs her hospital bed yet in a hotel all we can do is improvise. We are headed to UC Davis. My grandchild Jadyn (20 months old) is having open heart surgery and so of course we must all be there to offer our emotional support!
Please say a prayer for Jadyn and her parents (my daughter Kacee and Tye – Jadyn’s dad) and for Steve, myself and Trina. Thank you in advance for the prayer coverage. We are going in with only positive thoughts because this little one is a warrior. Her destiny must be a great one just watching who she is now.
As always, we appreciate you checking in. Enjoy your summer activities and talk with you again soon.
God Bless you all…
From Trina’s mom Sandy
