I just met a young woman in Redding the other day and found out a little about her story. The bottom line is that she is a young woman and has already lost a husband in the service and her special needs child passed away at age 10. I told her Trina’s story as well and it made her cry. What she doesn’t know is her story hit me hard too as soon as I left. I hope she and I have a chance to meet again and share even more.
When one is experiencing life’s tough stuff and circumstances have hit you in the blink of an eye, it can make interacting with others uncomfortable because they do not know what to say. Yet when you can relate with someone who has had something similar happen, it really creates a deeper bond almost instantly. That has been my experience. So, my prayers are with Jenna and now I share the prayer request with you here.
We continue to have smoke in Redding due to many different fires now. When we are outdoors for even a short time we have a mask on Trina. It is getting cooler so if the smoke could just leave we could start some awesome walks. Praying for that!
Most of you know that we believe in Jesus and are Christians in our home. I use this term to say we have relationship with God and are not in any way associated with people that judge others. We cannot go to church any longer due to Trina’s loud noises and we’ve been judged for that. Love ought to be visible and unconditional. But we are all human and have our moments, right. So, I was speaking with my sister today (we speak daily) and shared some of my trials from the last week and told her I had to “keep my Jesus on.” Meaning not to lose it and keep my composure trusting that God has me covered when life is pressing in on me. It’s so easy to run into something challenging and feel like reacting. So, Keeping My Jesus On for me is keeping my mind and heart in check so not to fall down. When I was young I ran on feelings which never helped my life move forward in a healthy way. The benefit of being older, even old (LOL) is you learn better ways to live. I am just so thankful that my hubby and I have a happy and peaceful household even when more stuff “hits” us as we can respond in a way that is healthy for us all. Especially when you are caring for any person that has comprised cognition. They are more sensitive to the environment around them and pick up on things that might tear down their spirit rather than build them up.
Hope you all have a wonderful week.
God Bless,
Sandy
