Appreciate Every Day…

HELLO EVERYONE:

Well, not much to update you on.

However, we are getting to the age where many people and family are either sick or dying. Those of us who are full-time caregivers, regular life still happens around us and for that we need balance within us.

Our goal in caring for our girl is to stay filled up in the Spirit with positivity, stay strong, and stay healthy as we age so that we can care for her for a long, long time. God has been good to us. We feel extremely blessed even when going through trials.

Trina, though her new level of change involves: more seizures, more posturing (a lot of time sleepless nights), inability for us to exercise her as much as we used to (we remain creative to keep adding new exercises that help her)…no matter what comes our way – she is a complete JOY to be around. She’s got so much personality that it blesses us daily.

It requires a huge amount of energy all day and night but we feel privileged to be able to take care of her and to be overcoming our own challenges and stay strong.

I have to say my husband and I are a great TEAM together. And, he loves Trina so much that he adopted her in this condition! We both are driven to care for her in such a way – I call it running a “tight ship” but definitely better than any hospital because our place is run with love. He and I both care about our environment being clean, organized, and continually seeking more of what is best for her. We’ve come to know many others caring for their adult children and often it can create a stress within the household…that is why I am aware that I am SO BLESSED to have my husband as my partner. Part of our formula is to be sure we are laughing every day. Even on the hard days. Thank you Lord.

We’re looking forward to Trina’s next neurology appt on Sept 3rd. We just love Dr Rao out of UCSF. He is amazing and we always hope for answers to our questions with him. And, there are always questions when it comes to brain damage.

Blessings to all who check in here with us. Please continue to pray for Trina and us – that we continue our journey with God leading, one day at a time.

Sending hugs and prayers from Steve, Sandy and Trina
