HOME has made a huge difference for Katrina. She is so peaceful and joyful. Now, in recent weeks – she began taking a literal jog through the hallway and comes up to us and grabs a hold of us. A lot of deep stares, too, which really makes you wonder what she is thinking. It does seem to indicate that her brain must be healing and creating new connections. We are going to UC Davis on October 3rd to hopefully get them to do some testing and see if any of their programs might help her advance even more. Please pray that we get a doctor that CARES there! We take Trina to the park and places where she can walk safely around without harm (no obstacles in the way) and so she is getting a lot of exercise, too. Of course we must watch her closely every second so that she does not fall. Without cognition, safety will remain a number one concern. She also HATES when I brush her teeth, so that is our first outbreak of showing that she does not like something or feels something out loud (which we welcome). Trina is a FIGHTER, thank God. We believe more than ever that even with a long road ahead, this is all great progress since bringing her home and gives us even greater hope. Thank you God! And, thanks to all of you who keep tabs on how she is doing! Sincerely, Trina’s mom
