Today’s the Day to Heal …

Many of you may not understand what I am about to share.  In “Trina’s Story” I did not give all of the “details” as I did not feel it was appropriate.  Yet everyone knows she is still married and we did not know where her husband was…until a couple of weeks ago.  He and I met today.  Prior to this situation, he was like a son to me and so I forgave him at that time, when he asked, for the domestic abuse (as did Trina).  And, Trina also caused him a lot of pain when she ran from hers.  So, this story is really about forgiveness and what God does to restore us all.  For Trina, we hope for a miracle that she could actually live her life again.  For her husband – we pray that he is restored to have joy.  If he chooses to be involved with helping his wife, we embrace that as it could be redemptive to his soul (and to hers).  My point:  Trina, her husband, “us” her family – we have all paid a price and the past is dead and gone – all we have is now.  The slate is clean for everyone to move forward.  We heal by embracing each day asking God what He has for us?  Today it was for a new start to accept her husband back into our lives.  We trust God with that.  Who knows what it will look like, but it should be all of our choice without judgment from others. There’s no need for sides and we choose to be excited about seeing God’s Will unfold.  I believe her husband is a good man and Trina is a good woman – they simply shared a past with troubles that are behind them now.  I guess I am saying we choose life for all involved in our story.  This is a testimony of choosing Jesus and His plan for us.  Love is messy and painful at times but in the big picture – Christ was nailed to a cross for my sins (all of our sins) and so who am I not to be willing to love as He did.  Therefore, please try to understand.  We take one day at a time hoping with it comes growth, more joy, more healing, more love.  With that – can’t wait for tomorrow.  Thanks God!

  1. Thanks Jacqueline – I mostly share to encourage others as we all have struggles. And, we always appreciate prayer … and love hearing about what prayers are needed from others, too. God Bless you too.
