New Challenges, More Prayers Needed …

Trina is stable.  However, as most of you know, my husband Steve is a huge blessing to Trina.  He loves her and is her primary caregiver with me, mom.  He truly is her daddy on earth (biological daddy is in heaven). We just found out yesterday that Steve has Ocular Lymphoma (cancer of the eye).  There was a growth and he had it sampled and had a biopsy done and it was positive.  Yes, I spent the afternoon in tears and was up most of the night just praying … as we know we have to trust God with this, too.  It is just overwhelming to comprehend how this will affect us while we are trying to beat it, eradicate it, so that we can hopefully enjoy a long life together. Trina needs him and I need him and we ask that you please join us in prayer for another miracle. Today we will find out more.  We have to go to San Francisco asap to a specialist and that will determine “the plan.”  We will consider “alternative medicine treatments” as well.  Any ideas out there and any expertise – please speak up!  One thing I know is that Trina’s improvement daily has a lot to do with Steve’s love and commitment to her.  I am counting on my faith more than ever.  God Bless and thanks again for checking in on what’s new on Trina’s progress.  More pics coming soon.

    1. Thanks Tracee. My husband had his surgery – tumor was removed…and we have to have him do a PET Scan next week at UCSF to determine if the cancer is anywhere else besides the eye … But the Ophthalmologist Oncologist expert that did his surgery feels confident it was localized, so we are not worrying. Thanks for getting opinions – as it is always to get other opinions whenever it relates to cancer!

  3. Sandy, my prayers are DEFINITELY with Steve and yourself in this new challenge. Clearly, I am preaching to the choir, but remember these things are but circumstances in a very much larger picture. Yes, you need to address it, grieve over it, and ask God what His plan in it is for your entire family…while always remembering what He speaks to us about such things.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

“Peace I leave you with; my peace I give you. I do not give you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.”

“I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

I thank God for your knowledge and strength in your faith, in this terrible time…it is EVERYTHING!

    1. Thanks Mike…and you are right…EVERY SINGLE TRIAL works towards our growth and trust and faith… WE HAVE SEEN GOD MOVE SOOOOO MIGHTILY in the last 1 1/2 years that it has been the greatest time of testing but also the greatest reward of growth with REALLY KNOWING GOD’S LOVE. So, thanks for the prayers and sharing scriptures (truth)…. God Bless you too!
