Another busy month. A dear friend, like a mother and grandmother to Trina and myself, passed away at 97 on 1-13-13 (Genevieve Williamson). This was not how we hope to start the new year but she had a long and wonderful life and Trina and I both send our love with her to Heaven. She is now free of pain and with her hubby.
Trina had a little trouble from her dental sedation in December…still working on tests, etc. to determine what is going on. We did start taking Trina with us to church and she has been able to handle it (some times she starts to kick and make loud sounds and yet so far so good). Little Country Church has a big glass room and that helps as well.
I also finally was able to order a custom bike trailer for Trina (should be here soon) so that we can go on bike rides and pull her behind us. Of course it had to be custom since we had to have a fully enclosed for safety unit, with harness and extra items for arms and legs to secure her for the ride. It should be so awesome as Spring approaches because she LOVES the outdoors and this will be so much better than just walks in the wheelchair. We are always trying to move forward to give her the best stimulus and to incorporate her into all that we do, though modifications have to be made. We have our bucket list of needs for her – all of which will take time as it boils down to dollars and cents needed. We are thankful for each day’s progress 🙂
We also have a new caregiver to help us with Trina when we have small breaks and she is a really nice Christian lady that is caring about and loving on Trina. We are very protective so we don’t allow just anyone to watch her!
And, so far so good – none of us has gotten that awful flu going around.
We are hoping to meet more people that also have adult children with disabilities so that there is a support group if you will – so if any of you that checks in is aware of one or people that might be interested, please let us know.
Blessings to all and getting back on track again so more regular updates this year!
From, MOM
